Studio Pia’s vivid new Arcana collection draws its inspiration from Frances F. Denny’s photo project “Major Arcana: Witches in America”. But you don’t need to know the series or read tarot cards to fall under its spell – the Arcana bras and panties are mesmerising entirely on their own.
Here, lattices of cords and straps sometimes take the place of fabric, creating a graphic, almost harness-like effect, while classic materials still play a key role – most notably a stunning shade of molten gold silk.
The stars of the line are the briefs and bras in sheer tulle, traced with sinuous black ribbons that curl across the body like snakes. It is an unmistakably dangerous kind of beauty – and this collection is anything but timid or fragile.
